Director, Grant Acquisitions Office
The Director of the Grants Acquisition Office is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s efforts to extend meaningful, strategic impact by securing programming opportunities and funding through large-scale state, federal, or national private grants. This leadership role guides the end-to-end process of grant development—from opportunity identification and program design to proposal submission, compliance tracking, and reporting—ensuring successful acquisition and implementation of grant-funded programs. The Director works in close collaboration with the Chief Growth Officer and Program Vice Presidents to align grant efforts with the strategic goals of Samaritas and to foster long-term relationships with public and private funders.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Program Bid Management
Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of program bid acquisition initiatives.

Oversee the design and development of grant programs that respond to stakeholder needs and organizational priorities.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

Ensure effective communication and synergy across departments involved in grant development and execution.

Ensure compliance with all funder regulations, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key funders, government agencies, and partner organizations.
Represent Samaritas in grant-related meetings, presentations, and strategic planning sessions with external stakeholders.
Team Management and Development
Provide supervision, coaching, mentorship, and support to staff within the assigned departments.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Identify and support the collective and individual development of team members.
Performance Metrics and Reporting
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to grant initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field (Master preferred).
Demonstrated progressive experience in grant writing, acquisition, or program development's preferably in the nonprofit or human services sector.
Proven track record of securing large-scale state, federal, or foundation grants.
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in grant management software and CRM tools is a plus.

Children’s Center of Wayne County (TCC) The Children’s Center, founded in 1929, provides evidence-based clinical therapy to children who deal with mental, behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental health and educational challenges or may have experienced trauma.

West Michigan Partnership for Children (WMPC) administers foster care services to children and families in Kent County, MI in partnership with Bethany Christian Services, Catholic Charities West Michigan, D.A. Blodgett—St. John’s, Samaritas, and Wellspring Lutheran Services. WMPC executes an innovative performance-based funding model through a contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), utilizing a capitated allocation payment mechanism that allows for savings generated from practice and program improvements to be reinvested into the foster care system.

Associate Director of Residential Care
When you join our team as the Associate Director of Residential Care, you’ll work alongside a dedicated group of social workers, therapists, direct care staff, and administrative professionals—all committed to supporting children and their families at our New Directions Campus in Farmington Hills. To be considered for this role, you’ll need either a master’s degree in a human behavioral science, education, or business administration from an accredited college or university with at least two years of experience in a child caring institution, child placing agency, or similar organization—or a bachelor’s degree in one of those fields along with at least four years of relevant post-degree experience in a similar setting. It is preferred that you currently hold an LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, or LLPC in the state of Michigan, or that you’re actively pursuing one - supervision is available for limited licenses. Additionally, this role also requires a minimum of four years of leadership or supervisory experience within a child caring institution or child placing agency.
As the Associate Director of Residential Care, you will:
Provide supervision and direction for Residential Shift Supervisors, Senior Youth Specialists and Cooks. Oversight of hiring, performance reviews, training, performance management and engagement of Direct Care staff.
Coordinate weekly work schedule so proper staffing and gender ratios are maintained, including calling in additional staff as required so living units are staffed safely at all times. Assure that all scheduled work time and assigned overtime is awarded in accordance with collective bargaining agreement and within agency budget limitations.
Plan and coordinate training for direct care staff and monitor implementation, in consultation with the Campus Director, Clinical team and Supervisors.
Manage and oversee program implementation including all policies and procedures pertaining to care of residents. Conducts and/or supervises perform regular audits of all required documentation, video reviews of activity on all shifts, and regular inspections of living units to assure they are maintained in clean and sanitary conditions
Provide role modeling to staff by intervening directly in crisis situations to assist and support staff to make safe and therapeutic decisions while managing difficult resident behavior. Use crises situations as a platform to instruct staff in appropriate de-escalation and prevention of problem situations. Routinely conduct and document debriefing sessions around use of emergency restraint or other crisis situations. Review video of any use of CPI physical interventions.
Participate in the development and administration of program policies and procedures.
Serve as a liaison and maintain a positive relationship with outside organizations as it relates to the Residential Program; i.e. Department of Human Services, Department of Child Welfare Licensing, etc.
Monitor and evaluate the residential program to ensure that performance is consistent with facility policies assist in reviewing, monitoring and evaluating statistical data and reports relative to the residential program.
Serve actively on the Residential PQI team; organize and execute relevant quality improvement activities.

Bilingual Case Manager (English/Spanish)

As an Unaccompanied Children (UC), Case Manager, you will be primarily responsible for helping children via case management services by engaging in the day to day care of the children while conducting culturally sensitive assessments, engaging with foster families and supporting the children in their long term care via internal therapeutic services, educational services, and medical and dental services.

Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction;
Keep abreast of community resources and refer families for support, as needed;
Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s level degree in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, or a Social Services field from an accredited college;
At least one (1) year of prior case management experience in child and family services;
Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a Bachelor’s level degree;
Bi-lingual English and Spanish, required;
Previous experience conducting home studies, strongly preferred;
Demonstrated ability to service a difference group of clients, to include refugees or other minority families;
Mature and stable judgment as well as sensitivity to various cultures and the unique history of refugees;
Knowledge of state, community and agency resources for victims of abuse;

Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker
As a Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker with Orchards Children’s Services, you will have the opportunity to conduct initial and ongoing assessments in regards to the needs of the family and the child in order to move toward a permanency plan in a timely manner. You will receive extensive training that will allow you to understand the needs of the program as well as become proficient in your ability to assess the needs of the child and family, address resources and develop an effective treatment plan that also addresses the petition allegations. You will also have opportunities to continue to grow within the organization through ongoing trainings as well as working as a team.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As a Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker, you will be very involved in the case planning and service delivery needs of the families serviced in order to move toward a permanency plan in a timely manner. You will complete initial and ongoing assessments as well as treatment plans with the families. You will also make reasonable efforts to locate resources and connect the family to those resources. You will assess and meet the needs and/or requests of foster parents in a timely and efficient manner. As a Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker, you will participate in any trainings as required by State licensing standards or as required by the Agency. You will document all case-related activities in the Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare System (MiSACWIS) according to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) policy. The Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker also completes and submits all case-related documents. All reports accurately reflect activity on the case and are submitted in a timely manner. You will become proficient in the ability to complete contacts and progress notes, foster and birth home forms, court reports, replacement reports, termination summaries and any other required reports are completed as necessary. You will engage in foster and birth home visits in order to continue to assess the progress and needs of the families. This position requires effective communication skills in both written and verbal communication as information is presented to the court in written reports as well as verbal testimony and information is provided to the Orchards team as well as external sources such as parents, foster parents as well as the DHHS. You will be responding to any and all crisis situations in a calm and professional manner and demonstrate the ability to effectively meet the needs of the parties involved. You will be given the opportunity to engage in Family Team Meetings in order to address case status information as well as engage as back up for staff as needed. As a Foster Care/Licensing Social Worker, you will also be given the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize and manage various tasks and appointments in a manner that allows for flexibility and timeliness.
You will be expected to establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with external and internal customers, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with foster parents. You will be able to participate in scheduled staff meetings as well as learn additional tasks related to the role.

Foster Care Specialist
The Foster Care Specialist shall hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human behavioral science, education or a related field. Experience in a professional setting with youth and families strongly preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, professionalism, organizational skills and comfort with computer technology/database entry is required.
Appropriate candidate for this position must have the ability to handle stress well, have the ability to be an active listener with good clinical observation and evaluation skills, be flexible and able to handle change, be a team player yet able to work independently, able to multi-task, and maintain case responsibility and follow-through with multiple competing demands. The Foster Care Specialist candidate should demonstrate a commitment to the safety and well-being of children and families with the primary goal of ensuring that families have the tools and services needed to achieve reunification. Knowledge of available community resource for, and comfort working with, individuals facing challenges associated with substance abuse, mental health, cognitive/developmental disabilities, domestic violence, poverty, homelessness and trauma is required.
Candidate may not have been convicted of child abuse or neglect, a felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire, or be listed on the central registry as a perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect. The Foster Care Specialist shall possess a valid Driver’s License, positive driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
